Smith Wigglesworth was a powerful minister in the early 1900s.
But he was not always strong or confident.
He struggled with fear, weakness, and even stuttering.
When he encountered God’s grace deeply, he learned one thing:
“God’s Word is true — even when my feelings are not.”
Instead of trying to impress God,
he simply agreed with God.
Every morning, before breakfast, Wigglesworth would stand up and declare:
“God is in me.
Christ is my righteousness.
His Spirit gives me life.
I am who He says I am.”
He wasn’t confessing to get God to move.
He confessed because God had already moved at the cross.
That grace-centered confession transformed him.
Through this lifestyle of meditating on and speaking God’s Word,
he grew into one of the most influential healing ministers in history:
- Countless people healed in Jesus’ name
- The dead raised multiple times
- Nations touched by the Gospel
He explained it this way:
“I don’t read the Bible to become holy.
I read the Bible because I am His and He is mine.”
And:
“I never pray for power —
I confess the One who is my power.”
His confession wasn’t striving.
It was resting in Christ.
His meditation wasn’t earning.
It was receiving truth again and again.
The power was never in Wigglesworth —
It was in the grace he was agreeing with.
