The world-famous evangelist Billy Graham was invited to receive an award at a large civic event.
A limousine was arranged to take him from the airport to the venue.
When the driver arrived, Billy Graham looked at him humbly and said:
“You’ve been driving all day. Do you mind if I drive for a little bit? I still love driving.”
The limo driver laughed and said:
“Sir, you’re Billy Graham! You can drive my car anytime.”
Billy Graham quietly drove the limousine himself.
The Ego Moment
When they reached the event, the security guards — not recognizing him behind the wheel — stopped the car and told him:
“You can’t park here. This is for important guests only.”
Billy Graham smiled and said:
“Oh, I understand. I’m just the driver.”
He parked somewhere else and walked quietly into the building through the side door, never correcting the guard or insisting on status.
Later, when the security realized who he was, they were shocked and deeply embarrassed.
Billy Graham simply said:
“I’m only a servant of the Lord. Titles don’t matter in heaven.”
